The access to care is pretty bad and the reasoning...
The access to care is pretty bad and the reasoning they always give is they are understaffed. Yet in the year I've been recieving care at this facility, they seem to always be understaffed. I've had appointments cancelled without my knowledge and then offered an appointment two months out. Completely unacceptable. I recently saw an incredibly rude provider in the eye clinic. Other than one eye-clinic provider, a majority of the providers are competent, caring, and compassionate people. The primary issues with this VA is access to care, it's challenging to get anyone on the phone, they are only open 8-4 which is an issue if you have a job, and there seems to be a high provider turnover which leads to lapses in care. I've had issues getting perscriptions filled because my provider retired or left and no one seems to be filling in for them. This VA inadequately serves a growing community and completely fails at serving employed veterans given their limited appointment offerings and limited hours they are open.
