I loved the therapist I saw. However, it took a week to get a return phone call to set up that initial appointment. That phone call took a half hour as I gave the young lady all my insurance info. She even asked for my husbands social security number (insurance is through him), and when I told her I didn t think she needed that info, she told me I couldn t get an appointment if I didn t provide it. Okay, I am going through a bad time because of multiple deaths of persons close to me, so I gave it to her.
When I showed up for my appointment the following week, I was told I owed $100 since I didn t have insurance. I informed this young lady that I did indeed have insurance, pulled out my insurance card and pointed out the section regarding behavioral health benefits. I pulled up my insurance web page to show her that this clinic is listed as a provider. She was unimpressed, told me that the only person in the world who could adjust my account was off that day, that she would pass along my info, and if I was correct (?) I would have a credit applied to my future visits.
I expected a phone call on the following business day, but no. I called and left a message. Left two messages the next day, and the day after. My next appointment is tomorrow, I will not pay another $100, and there is an $85 late cancellation fee if I don t give 24 hours notice. So I had to cancel my appointment. I have a refund due, so I intend to follow up with the states attorney.
