Heather Shalton Review of one ocean resort

I booked a one night stay at Ocean One this weekend. I was super stoked to have a mini mommy vaca and looked forward to spoiling myself with a resort instead of my go-to reservations. After checking in I had to run across town so I didn't really take a good look at the room the first time I went in. When I finally got back and started getting ready for a shower I noticed that the bathroom wasn't clean in any way. I mean, the towels were beautifully folded, but once opened were covered in filth. Checked the trash cans which, while not full, had also not been emptied prior to my stay. Nothing in the room appeared to be actually clean. I went to the front test to discuss the matter and was given new lines to switch out as I requested. No other rooms were available and housekeeping was not on duty so I didn't really have many options. Housekeeping showed up at my room this morning asking questions about when I booked, when I checked in, and when I was checking out. Apparently my room was showing vacant on their side. I was asked how my stay was and I answered honestly. The housekeeper preceeded to argue and dismiss my comments because according to her it was "just my opinion and you probably stirred up the dust when you switched out the bedding the night prior, because dust travels". I just gathered my stuff at that point and headed to the checkout and explained what happened. The lady at checkout was super apologetic and did discount my stay.
Overall, the staff(excluding housekeeper), were super friendly and very understanding with my concerns. The two stars are strictly because of them. However, the cleanliness knocks you down 2 stars and another .5 for the not so friendly housekeeper.
