Horrible experience! Me and my girlfriend took the S-Bahn from the airport to the city centre when we got stopped for control by two ladies. As we both had bought a valid ticket we didn't expect anything to be wrong but it turned out we didn't scan the ticket before we entered the train (we didn't know we had to as it's not indicated anywhere, or at least not clearly because we didn't see anything). Anyway, we thought no big deal as we clearly had a ticket which was bought less than an hour ago so there was no way we could have been cheating the system. They gave us a fine of 60 euro which altough in our eyes was obviously unreasonable we accepted as apparently that's how the law is. However, what was a lot worse was the rudeness of the two controllers. Neither one of us spoke German but we tried to communicate in a friendly matter with them. They however responded in an incredibly rude matter while refusing to speak English. To top it off they made a few racist remarks (my girlfriend is Colombian) and laughed at our situation. Apparently human decency and a little empathy is not part of who they are. Very dissapointed in this behavior and still very upset.
