The train was an excellent way to get into the Canyon. Good entertainment and we saw Deer, antelope, and elk. (And some cows). The time at the Canyon was short (about 3 hours) so I would suggest taking the Freedom Tour. It takes you away from the crowds and you are not packed standing on the shuttle buses.
