Redwoods Rural Health Clinic is an integral part of the Southern Humboldt Community. As a new member in 1998, I came to the clinic as a newly pregnant young woman who also was recovering from a heroin addiction. The clinic held its door open not only with healing arms but also with compassion. Its prenatal care and concern for my well being enabled me to not only find stability and security here in our community, but also gave me the courage to be a responsible and sober mother. Years later, I found myself with epilepsy and again the clinic held a very important hand in that journey. If it hadn't been for Redwoods Rural, my daughter who is now 19 and still a patient of the clinic, and I myself would have never been able to afford any form of medical care.
I am glad to have this opportunity to express my appreciation and devotion to our community clinic. Thank you so much to all of the physicians and employees. I give you all much respect and gratitude!
