We came in the off season for the relaxation and peace the mountains have to offer. The hotel along with Gaitlinburg has suffered due to the fire late last year. Beside the hotel property itself not much was seen in need of repairs.
Pros: The lobby and staff we interacted with were nice and inviting. Room was cozy and the bed was oh so comfortable after a long day of hiking in the mountains. View was amazing from not only the parking lot, but the room. Asked for more coffee (cause of incident see below) and pillows, and came back with 4 extra pillows and plenty of coffee. Pool area was nice and kids would love it. Jacuzzi was refreshing and perfect.
Cons: No free breakfast, but that made us go into town and find some great breakfast restaurants. Coffee maker in hotel did not operate in the "two cup" mode, overflowed one cup and all onto the tray. Water temperature in shower took forever to get warm. Not sure to us being on 13th floor or what, but took over 5 minutes for shower to get to warm/hot temp. When restocking the coffee in the morning two days in a row we didn't get stirring rods. Hard to add creamer and sugar with nothing to stir with.
