Visited the campus during a recent trip to Boston and enjoyed the experience. It's great to see a private university opening its doors to curious visitors who are drawn in by the prestige attached to the school.

The Visitor/Information Center is on Rogers Building (aka, Building 7-121) along Massachusetts Avenue, where maps and restrooms are available. The building is hard to miss with its Greek columns and the name of the school and founder inscribed on its facade. Maps are also available on the MIT website.

It would probably take half a day to visit the campus at a leisurely pace. If you don't have much time, the Great Dome and Killian Court (green space) are easily reachable from the Information Center and are very picture-worthy. From there, you can reach the waterfront, which offers amazing views of downtown Boston and Charles River. You can even cross the bridge on foot if your next destination is the downtown area.
