We dined at Augusto's for my wife's birthday dinner. I like to try new restaurants for every night out, and I opened my search area for recommended restaurants. Augusto's popped up, and although it was a bit of a drive for us, we're glad we took a chance on it. We started out with the Flat Bread Pizze - Color Purple and the Cream of Broccoli soup of the day. The pizze was exquisite - the beet infused goat cheese and mozzarella combination gave it a unique taste and a nice take on the flatbread appetizer. The Cream of Broccoli was nice, as the ingredients were mixed fresh with the cream soup right at the table. For dinner we had the crab cakes and the beef burgundy. The crab cakes were very fresh and flavorful, with a horseradish cream sauce that wasn't overbearing like the mayo used in many crab cakes at other restaurants. The beef in the beef burgundy was so tender and moist, I could just pull it apart with my fork. And service was impeccable - we received the Sausage & Spinach flatbread by mistake, and the chef personally came to our table to apologize. He stopped at other tables to check on their meals and to chat with patrons, making it a very friendly atmosphere. The restaurant can get a bit noisy when full, and the decor is unassuming, but make no mistake the food here is better than any other restaurant we've been to in the suburbs. For anyone willing to venture out, you'll do no wrong than coming out to this wonderful BYOB.
