BEWARE!! Went to cancel my membership, was told that I had to do a 90 day hold first, then after the 90 days, it would be cancelled. Noticed a charge on my Amex card recently from the YMCA. Called to let them know their error, and to get the charges refunded, they refused, but was told that I was wrong, and no one would have said that about the "hold" process. When I pointed it that this sounded a lot like a scam to keep billing and that I would be talking to Amex about disputing the charges, she said "that's ok, we deal with this all the time" ... They scam people so often that it's now routine to deal with credit card disputes???? That can't be right, can it?
