We have 3 kids, and so, we get into the museum for free. but i'd say it's worth a visit even if you do pay (LA County residents get in for free after 3pm on weekdays as well) the exhibits are pretty extensive, and you can definitely make multiple visits out of it. make sure you visit Levitated Mass and Urban Light, both of which are outdoor attractions.
Parking is $12 across the street, or you can try and find street parking.
