Mary Ann Felps Review of Renown Health

After I was in the ER for 5 hours, I was moved up tp the ortho wing to be ready for emergency hip fracture surgery the following morning. I was very grateful that they scheduled me in because I was in agony!
The private room was a pleasant surprise.
The nurse that was working the night shift was horrible, very cold and super mean! She actually was withholding medication from me! Her name was Kalena and I was told she is a "traveling " nurse whatever that means...the other nurse working the shift whispered in my ear that she is super unfriendly with all the staff. She needs to go sling hash someone she should DEFINITELY Not be looking after patients with her miserable attitude! I can't even exaggerate how horrible she was to me.
Moving on, the next day I had my surgery around 10 am, boy the nurse in the O.R was so kind and caring...The anesthesiologist came in and went over what he was going to give me. I really loved him because he didn't get attitude when I asked where he went to school and did his residency. Some docs get all annoyed by this but he was very informative. MD does not stand for GOD in my book. I like to be well~informed of the doctor doing my surgery. I had already found everything about my orthopedic surgeon the night before, thanks Goog :)
My surgery went very well and I woke up feeling okay in the recovery room. I mean you're pretty drugged up so no worries.
Moving to Reno last summer I was worried about finding new doctors; but I found excellent ones. I will say that I am pretty impressed with Renown and the top quality of staff I encountered during my 4 day stay. The nurses; a shout out to Viv, Karen, Kevin and Kiley just to name a few. I would get a net set every 12 hours.
The physical therapy started the very next day and continues on here at home. Coming from some of the best medical care in the Bay Area I'm very impressed! I'm a critical judge.
I think 5 stars except that horrific nurse, I cried in agony the entire night, from 2 am to 9am. You should never suffer like that in a hospital environment, Never!
