These people are impossible to get on the phone and when they do answer they cold transfer me every time to someone who will then transfer me to a line that does not pick up. Any process that requires my information to be passed between departments to complete such as a specialty consult is guaranteed to not be completed despite assurances that they will be and requires constant follow up. Following up requires me to start at a call center in Temple every time because these people do not want to be contacted directly. It is a full time job making sure my patient care needs are being fulfilled so it is no wonder the VA is stereotyped as not caring bout their patients. The only semblance of care is received if I go to the clinic in person to take care of these things, which I, like most people, cannot do because I have to make a living during the day Monday through Friday. Even when I do go there, interdepartmental tasks like specialty consults cannot be addressed by the staff for whatever reason. About half of the people here need to be fired and then the VA needs to rehire people like the half that kept their jobs.
