So. I went to Shannon Motors because of the raving reviews I see on the website. And you go there and the sales people are smiling. That's where everything stops. This is definitely still a used car lot. With used car salespeople. In every aspect. From being given a "list of cars you qualify for". To the "oh well your car needs this and that, so yes we said 3000 over the phone, but we can only give you 500 now because the windshield wipers need to be replaced!"
Then there is the "great" car you buy. So, I understand not spending money on a car before you sell it. But once it's sold shouldn't things be checked and replaced if necessary? I called on my way up to the dealership to tell Jared I was coming to purchase a 2007 Suburu Forester. Only two things I asked for when I got there is to have floor mats in the car and the key fob (I was told by the salesperson that the car didn't come with a door unlock/lock fob, a 2007 Suburu?) Jared said, yup we have the mats and key fob. I show up, ask about the mats. Oh I'm sorry we don't have any. And was told that Auto Zone has some for me though. (Yes was really told that) and then the key fob I was given didn't work the car. So I had to set the alarm of opening the door all night till I fixed myself next day. So now 16 hours after I bought this car, now the big stuff shows. Highway speeds and step on the brakes, better hold on tight. Almost shoke myself off the road. And the tired have some kind of high spots on them (I'm thinking the metal inside the tire is broken?) so basically it's all over the road at any speed. And the clutch is shot!
So, all this. After being told be the Manager of the Shannon in Woonsocket that he actually drove the car for a while right before I bought it. The only thing he decided to tell me was that the car is "very fast". Not that it runs great. Not that the interior is great. Or the engine is strong. So basically you drove your cars like they are rentals before you sell them?
So today I will be spending about 2000.00 on a car I just bought so that me, my girlfriend and two young kids can go out this weekend in my "new" car safely.
