How do you say FRAUD? How about SCAM? Crown Honda of Southpoint is the very definition. Catalytic Converter and all parts were replaced in Feb 2018 due to theft. Original one was over 10 years old.
Took car in for service today Jan 11, 2020 and they told me that all the same parts that they installed less than 2 years ago have to be replaced at a cost of over $3,000. Honda of Southpoint did the installation in Feb 2018 at a cost of $1,400.
They told me that the parts are now out of warranty and that my insurance company negotiated in bad faith. That it is not their problem.
They will not fix the problem. Matt Mann and Tony Cadula stated the warranty was 1 year and then changed it to 2 years but then stated that we were 4,000 over mile warranty. No where in repair statement does it state 2 year, 25,000 mile warranty.

My contract with the dealership states. "parts used in repair of your vehicle made by other than the original manufacturer are required to be at least equivalent in terms of fit, quality, performance, and warranty to the original manufacturer parts that they are replacing".

It's all about making more money!! Cheat the customer at all costs.
Matt stated. "we don't have to tell our customers about a warranty because everyone knows that there are warranties." He compared the Catalytic Converter to a DVD that may not work and its' warranty.

Edit:
Spoke to Scott Washle after this original post so adding this as an edit.
Scott Washle, General Manager stated that the dealership used substandard parts at the request of my insurance adjuster and hat they never use aftermarket parts to repair cars. This is in fact not true because I found that they buy many items aftermarket from a NAPA dealer in Carrboro and Durham.
Also found through several sources that it would highly unlikely for all the parts to wear out in same amount of time. Parts are catalytic converter and gaskets, resonator, front and rear sensors and exhaust pipe as well as the brackets. Original parts were 12 years old before needing to be replaced due to vandalism, so less than 2 is not matching O/E parts specifications or warranties.
Matt Mann, Service Manager stated that there are warranties on all the different parts and that they are not provided in writing because every customer knows that there is a warranty.

Update:
After speaking with a NAPA dealer and finding the manufacturer of the parts, contacted them and was told the part has a 5 year, 50,000 mile warranty and my part is covered. They are sending the part to my home directly. Crown will not honor the warranty. (I do have a letter and warranty from the manufacturer for anyone who would like to see it).
In the meantime, Matt Mann, Service Manager contacted me and told me that Crown Honda of Southpoint will never work on my cars and I am not welcome there.

Response to Matt - you made no effort to fix the problem. You only wanted to charge us over $5k for repairs. I now have the parts which were under warranty in my garage. All the dealership had to do was call the manufacturer to find out that there is a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty for part integrity which covered this part. Not the 2 year 25,000 mile which you stated. That is only for emissions failure.
As you note in many of your other responses, your dealership is customer service friendly. Really? You banned me from your dealership.

Another update:
Did it! After such a terrible experience with Crown Honda of Southpoint in Durham, NC we got rid of our Honda this weekend and bought a Ford. After 15 years of owning Honda's, we will never go back. Thanks to Matt Mann and Scott Washle at Crown Honda for the total lack of respect and customer focus!
