I would rate this place a ZERO if i could. My husband and I decided to getaway for the night and arrived at st andrews hotel and spa at 22:00. We did not make a reservation so we thought we would just try our luck. When we got to reception, the security told us that reception usually closes at 23:00 but because the hotel wasn't busy, the staff decided to clock off at 21:00. We were then shown to our room, 5 minutes later realising that there was no hot water! We reported the problem to security and we were then told that he would find out from maintenance and call us back. We waited for another 15 minutes for the call and eventually got tired of waiting si we decided to go find out whats going on at reception only to find the security on duty eating an apple telling us that no one from maintenance is answering their phones. The security then told us that he would find out if there was hot water in the building next door. Once again, we waited another 15 minutes before the security cane back to tell us that there is no hot water at all. We then requested that our money be refunded and that we were leaving. We packed all our luggage and on our way out the security told us that there was hot water in the other building. We were then shown to another room in another building only to find that the heater was not working (mind you we were in the middle of winter) and the carpets were FILTHY! Word of advice, take R1600.00 and spend it on a better hotel that will actually give you five star service. Dont even waste your time on this place!
