I went with my mother on June 11th 2013 to stay the night at Niagra Fallsview Gateway. What was supposed to be a lovely mother/daughter trip (after she flew 14 hours to be with me) started out in possibly the worst way imaginable. Going to check in at the front desk, my mother told AMANDA (who checked us in) that her sister and brother in law had made a reservation for us and before she could continue, was told in a derogatory manner that "if you are insinuating that this room has been paid for, it hasn't". For a hotel that is known world wide, I was absolutely DISGUSTED by the mannerisms of this lady at the front desk. We were spoken down to and left with a bad taste in our mouth to say the least. I have never been so infuriated and felt so discriminated against in a hotel that is supposed to be of such repute, needless to say I will NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. Although the manager was sorry (we were given vouchers for breakfast and starbucks) and we did appreciate the gesture. The hour that was wasted complaining about this and the way we were treated initially definitely was not worth the stay.
