Son and I participated in an event held by Rock Dimensions .
I am 51 and have 0 experience other than just being a human that has climbed trees and boulders as a kid . My 21 yr old son had 0 experience. We wanted to do something new.
Adrian shared with us during the day he was a school counselor. He has the patience that illustrated to me he certainly would be a good counselor. Ryan or Rian (sp?) Was introduced to climbing via the BSA many years ago , i got the sense he was still living the "Scout Law" (trustworthy,Loyal, helpful,
Friendly ,Courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave and reverent *Believe me people that is hard to find today. These two got my son and I having a great time climbing safely with no exlerience in an hour . We had an awesome time, and if time allows im hoping to participate again in an activity with these two.
If i understand correctly these two have approximately 60 yrs of climbing experience combined. Their passion for climbing radiates . The event I participated in was an class but it was also a fund raiser of sorts. Certain group possibly the Carolina Climbing Coalition are trying to raise funds to purchase land that would allow more opportunity for people to climb, the point I want to make is that the fee o paid went to a good cause , the guys were volunteering their time to help a block head like myself! I doubt if you will find many (if anybody) that volunteer their Sundays for a cause they believe in much anymore. Our family had some bad luck recently and we came to a cross roads , this day of climbing was exactly what my son and I needed to become energized and get through the struggles we may encounter going forward. If God wills it we will try to return for more guidance.
Adrian - you never told us the answer to your riddle? ....what sits in the corner all day and travels around the World?
