The Meydan complex is BIG and located just outside the city center. All rooms have a marvelous view on the horse racetrack. The hotel has an open atrium and the lobby truly looks amazing. Rooms are very large (+60m2) with a very nice bathroom with a spacious shower and a yacuzzi-like bath tub. Rooms were clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is good, but was the same every day. 20 minute drive away from Dubai Mall, 25 min from Burj Al Arab and 30 min from Marina. Since the hotel is not located in the center of Dubai, you won't hit a lot of traffic. There is a nice infinity pool on the rooftop.

The rooms aren't soundproof at all, which is a real issue. Rooms are equipped with a home cinema system with subwoofer. If your neighbour puts on the tv or music you will hear every word of it. The first night we had to change rooms because of a noisy neighbour. Our next room was better, but for some reason housekeeping decided to vacuum clean at 1am. We called the concierge but without result... You will also hear people walking by your room. If you're a light sleeper, you won't sleep as a baby. An other minor issue is the staff. They are friendly and responsive but they don't seem to act. On several occasions we asked for simple request, they always answered with "yes sir, we will take care off it", but nothing happend. You will need a taxi to get to Dubai city. The hotel is located on a remote location so taxis aren't readily available. Usually there are Lexus taxis, but they are more expensive than normal ones. When driving to the hotel always ask the driver if he knows the hotel. We had many drivers who had no clue.
