I am a doctor and had admitted my elderly mother and found the hospital standard care to be highly unsatisfactory. (1) A nurse made an error in the dosage of medication that administered; (2) The nurses clearly did not follow handover procedures with obvious poor communication between the nurses; (3) My mother is immunocompromised and one of the nurses did not follow required hand hygiene practices; (4) my mother required regular glucose blood tests but a nurse skipped the test but the documentation still showed that the test had been done and was even charged for; (5) there were numerous billing discrepancies including being overcharged for oxygen and overcounting of antibiotic infusion bottles; (6) when I queried the bill on the erroneous charges I got different answers about quantities depending on who I spoke with. I feel that all of the above is a far outcry from quality and safe patient care that 'reflects state-of-the-art health care practices' which the hospital claims to provide, especially since it markets itself and charges as a premium hospital. A layperson may not be aware of such omissions and errors and it could potentially have a serious impact on their health and possible complications. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hospital to friends or family. Note I have contacted the hospital feedback service excellence team and separately the hospital CEO and neither have got back to me regarding these matters.
