This is probably the most unorganized place I've ever been to. We hosted a private party in the evergreen ballroom. So many things went wrong it's hard to remember them all. It all started a few months ago when we had a meeting set with event planner and he never showed up. When we called him he pretty much said he forgot. It was a sign of things to come. The actual day of the party was ridiculous. We had a live band play and the stage was was supposed to be 12 feet deep and it was only 8 feet which didnt leave the band enough room. The dimensions of the stage were agreed upon prior to the party and were in writing. When we told them they said there was nothing they could do because the dance floor was already put down. Keep in mind the dance floor is removable. The band was supposed to have a sound check any time after 12 noon. When they started their sound check someone told them to stop because they were disturbing a meeting next door. The band had to wait until after 3:00 to do their soundcheck and had to cut it short because guests were arriving. There were supposed to be 8 round tables set up, there was only 6. Again all this was agreed upon prior to the party and was in writing. When we told the event planner we were short 2 tables he acted like it was our mistake until we reminded him it was all in writing. Then the tablecloths were not ironed and looked terrible. We had the venue rented until midnight and we had an open bar which was to go until closing. At 10:30 the bartender decided he had been there long enough and just left. So we had to go down a floor to a packed bar to get drinks and then carry them back to our room. It was a mess. Through all of this the staff was unfriendly and pretty much acted like we were a bother. All in all it was a bad experience and I would never reccomend the grand geneva to anyone.
