"Police, your friend and helper" Anyone can interpret this sentence as he / she likes.
I've also dealt with police officers, be it privately through controls or through deployments in the fire department.
There are always "black sheep" in the police force. But basically the majority of police officers do their job like all of us. Policemen are only people with high and low, people just like all of us.
Everyone who does this job with the police has my respect, because the police do not have it easy for political and social reasons. To be honest, I don't want to have to do this job, so I'm glad that there are people who do this job.
I find the hatred against the police very often wrong, because they represent and protect the laws which we citizens can influence through voting or referendum.

Don't forget that there is always a person behind the police uniform, not an enemy.

Whether contact with the police is justified or perceived as unfair, human remains human.
I teach my children that in my opinion the police have a difficult job and that they deserve respect (like everyone else). My children know that the police are sovereign and that they are not our enemy.
