Cerebral Method Review of Circuit of the Americas
Bring your walking shoes. I went for moto gp weeke...
Bring your walking shoes. I went for moto gp weekend and most of the whole first day was a write off because many of the workers and volunteers have no idea where anything is. We kept asking where this is and where that is and they would either send us to the wrong place or say they didn't know what was this way or that. The saving grace was the shuttle service, which will take you where you want to go quickly, but it's quite popular and there are too few of them. So you're either walking around not knowing where you're going, or waiting around for a shuttle. We got the VIP experience, which I don't really recommend because, even though the unlimited food and drinks are good, cota oversold our suite, so there weren't enough track side seats for everyone. So, on the last day we had to get there really early and 'tie' ourselves to our seats so we would have a view of the track at race time. More, the greeting staff at the front desk for the suites, while polite and friendly, didn't even tell us we had to collect our paddock passes when we checked in, so we ended up walking all the way to the paddock, only to be told our VIP ticket didn't include paddock access (it did, but we were also supposed to be given our paddock passes). We did get to meet some good people, but I imagine there are a lot of good people to meet in the bleachers and other viewing areas. More, cota's lawyer was staying in our suite and decided to bad mouth us behind our back because I moved her stuff over...which I only did because she had left her stuff taking up half the counter and the suite was too packed (breaching fire capacity, we found out later) and I had nowhere to watch qualifying from. I will say it's a really nice venue, just very poorly managed.
