We reserved seats in a narration car and loved our tour guide! She took on the role of Cora Mears Pitcher on 7/14 and was an amazing storyteller with so much knowledge! She told us a lot about the history of the area and train development, the geography, and the train. The views were beautiful, the train was lovely, and the staff was great. They have a snack car with a bar and have a professional photographer who will take couple and group pictures. It goes from Durango to Silverton with about an hour and a half stop to eat and shop. You can get tickets for one way or round trip.
