While I was pre-approved with my Credit Union for a decent APR%, I was around $5k upside down on my previous car, didn't have a down payment, or very good credit, and to add icing to the cake, my CU would ONLY finance UP TO 100% of the invoice amount (meaning no negative equity roll-over). So, I really needed a better car, and had had my eye on the Optima for several months. I wasn't really looking at buying brand new, but realized that going new was the only way I'd get rebates, which is what it was going to take to balance out my $5k negative equity. I went to 4 other dealerships, and Fredy Kia is the only place that got me in the car I wanted for the price I wanted to pay. Salesman was very helpful, but to be honest, if I wasn't so on top of things (did my research and knew what was up), and if I would have let him, he probably would have cleaned me out or at least tried to. My only real problem is that I purchased car on 3/30/14, paper plates expired on 5/30/14, and they have not come in yet. Emailed my salesman with no response, and I'm waiting on them to overnight me a new set of paper plates until new set comes in. We will see... My advise, don't buy from ANYONE without doing your homework, I don't care who you are man, woman, both or neither, don't go into a dealership just asking to be SOLD TO, do research, know what you want and what the price SHOULD BE, and know what options are available for what price and on what trim/ models. ANY dealership will screw you, and if they say they won't they lie.
