I use to come here all the time, when I was really little and I would sit on the grass with an ice-cream, watching the music on the bandstand with my parents (good times). A large indoor and outdoor environment. Lots to do for all ages, with a botanics area, with information on different plants from around the world. Plants are also sold here, with a gift shop by the entrance and exit. There's a playground and a conservatory with birds inside (interesting touch). I did work experience in the gift shop two years ago and the manager of the gift shop was lovely and I really enjoyed working there for a week x... School trips were also really fun here and I sang in one of the conservatories with my choir, offering pretty good acoustics. It's larger than you think it is, so walks with your dog and family would be an ideal way to spend an afternoon, baring in mind that you have to pay to get in and the cafe costs an arm and a leg!
