Review of Pillar and Post Hotel

Quite high priced, 250+ per night, for what it is. Room smelled very musty and damp, carpet was old, paint chipped off of door frames, etc. AC unit was loud, disturbed our sleep. We were charged valet, though our car was parked only a few steps from the front door.
Pros: Personnel were friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. We heard good reports from others regarding the eatery; we did not eat there. It s a 10 minute, pleasant walk to main area of town, Niagara on the Lake. A very nice multi-use trail is across the street which runs along Niagara gorge.
I can t comment on the pool/spa as we did not use them.
Unless you re interested in staying at an old place for traditions s sake- I d book elsewhere, or at minimum request a different room if yours smells bad like our did.
