Extremely disappointing. We adopted an adorable dog that we love very much. However!, the Director Lindsey is apparently to busy to address concerns until you threaten to go over her head. We adopted a female adult dog and were told that we could not take her home until she was spayed. We completely understand and agree with the policy, however, the day the we adopted her, we were told that she would be fixed on the Saturday or Monday at the latest and that someone would follow up with us when they had the appointment set. The following Wednesday after we adopted her I called to see when she was going to be fixed and was told the next Wednesday, after already being told that Saturday or Monday. At that point I asked to speak to the director, who was not available so had to leave a message for Lindsey. I left her a message asking her to call us back and that we would like to have our pup moved from her current Kennel to a quieter one. The dog next to her was very aggressive and was stressing her out. I then called the following Thursday and left yet another message for Lindsey to call me back and requested again, that she be moved if not for the fact that she was stressed but also that they should move so that she was not front and center and put another dog that need to be adopted up there. She was never moved.
That Friday my husband went into the shelter and asked to speak to her yet again and yet again she was not around. We went in again on Sunday and again she was not around. (No surprising since it was a Sunday but was told she was just there) We did ask if we could take her to our own vet and were told no that they have to take care of it, which we accepted. So now it has been a week and a half and our dog went to the vet to be spayed and we received a call that she is ALREADY SPAYED! After that call, I called Lindsey once again and left her a message that since she cannot seem to return my calls I will find out who her superior was and deal with the issues at hand that way. THEN I received a call back from her and all she could say was that she was sorry. I told her that we were told twice that she was the only one that could authorize the dog to be moved and she said that was not the case. So now our pup has been in this place for an additional week and a half for no reason. I cannot believe the incompetence of this place. We have rescued two dogs from Spokanimal with NO issues and this time it has been nothing but stress and issues. It breaks my heart to think that our pup could have been home being loved on and cared for this whole time...instead she was left in a cage next to an aggressive dog and stressed out. Now we will have our dog home tonight. I am so very disappointed in the service we received. It seems to me that SCRAPS need to educated their employees/volunteers more and get a director that is hands on. Maybe then these things will stop happening. I hope and pray that the pups that are waiting to go home are better cared for than our dog was. Once we picked up our pup from the Vet she was DOWN to 56 pounds. When she was accepted to Scraps on she was 65 pounds and that was on December 12/20/2019. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES A DOG LOSE 10 LBS IN 2 WEEKS?! Because they dont care if they are stressed out or not eating. They just want your money!
