Joshelle Conley Review of Procope Studio

I visited Le Procope with my mother, aunt, and cousin to celebrate our Thanksgiving dinner during our stay here in Paris. It was directly beside our hotel and we had heard good things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, our overall experience dining at the restaurant was not a pleasant one. The wait staff was a bit curt and snooty maybe because we mainly spoke English along with our best efforts in elementary French....? They also seemed to be in a bad mood as well as understaffed.
For appetizers we ordered the Escargot, we waited about 20 - 25 minutes before I overheard our waiter speaking to another waiter. From what I gathered they were motioning back and forth at our table while checking a list of orders on a computer. They had forgotten our order...... Once they realized they had forgotten us the Escargot took about another 10-15 minutes.
When it came to the entrees it was basically the same story. I ordered the scallops from the waiter, and he repeated my order to me to confirm it (so I m sure he heard me) However, everyone at the table received their food except for me who quite literally had an empty plate placed in front of me. I assumed they were busy and perhaps my plate took longer to prepare, so I tried to be patient but my food never came. By the time I thought to ask about it my party was already basically done with their meal, the wait staff were very distant and hard to get a hold of, and I really just wanted to leave at that point. In addition, after reading some of the other reviews about the seafood and shellfish I can t help but wonder if it was a blessing in disguise my meal never came......
The food I did get to try (the escargot and what I scavenged from my cousins plate) were actually quite good. *snaps to the chef* . I understand that the restaurant was busy and I understand not to expect the same dining experience you would in the U.S. but the overall experience was made uncomfortable and disappointing by the wait staff.
Side Note: if you re interested in Seafood check out the Homer Lobster restaurant next door. They are quick, affordable, and very delicious!
