This is one of my favorite places in Ecuador. First, the birds are amazing: Choco Sirystes, Brownish Twistwing, Gray-backed Hawk, King Vulture, Royal Flycatcher, and many, many more. This is one of the last places left where you can find this habitat Pacific Equatorial rainforest. The reserve is large and the trails are extensive. Accomodation is extremely comfortable and the meals are excellent. Students and staff give this place an energetic atmosphere and by visiting, you're supporting the fantastic non-profit that runs it, Third Millennium Alliance. Lots of howler monkeys too! Whether you're a birder, a researcher, or just wanting to visit the rain forest, this is a great place to visit. Seriously, don't miss it.
