I am a big Ikea fan, part of the family aswell. But our last visit was not good. The restaurant was understaffed, wich made the lines very long and the food options limited. A lot of stuff was sold out, or not available at all. There was no brocolli so they replaced that wit peas. I saw this happening with the person in front of me in the queue. I really don't like peas, but the staff didn't inform me pro-actively. So I said something only when I saw him go for the peas. Second thing, I always get extra cream sauce on my fries and I skip the red sauce. This is never a problem. But all of a sudden the lady informed me that she was not alowed to do so, and she could give me extra sauce on the side. Fine, i'll take that. She was not very friendly at all.
Then! and this one bothered me the most because I know Ikea is trying to create less waste all around. At the checkout I asked for a glass to put fizzy apple soda from the machine in, but this lady inmormed me that glasses are only for wine and people who buy bottled drinks. The soda from the machine goes in disposable cups.. So I skipped the drink. She gave me no alternative or appology either.
Long story, and hopefully the Ikea staff reads this. I have never, at any other Ikea, experienced this sort of 'service'. I hope this was a one-off and please see about the use of disposables in your restaurants. Especially replacing the soda cups with glasses would be a quick win!
