I stayed here on NYE 2010/2011 using a Hilton Honors certificate for a free room. I have Diamond status, and the staff treated us well during the entire visit - from check in until check out. First of all, when I checked in, they had better-than average freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. They gave us a couple of them to eat later as well. At check-in, normally I would have to choose between free wireless, Hilton points, or free breakfast. They gave us all three complimentary. In our room, which was lovely, there was a complimentary NYE package, with some candy, hats and noisemakers. The room seemed brand new, and was immaculate.

At the free NYE party in the hip lobby, they gave out complimentary champagne and balloons fell from the ceiling at the appointed time. It was quite cool. We didn't succeed in crashing the private party on one of the top floors, but the staff was polite and respectful in refusing our entry. The complimentary breakfast was FANTASTIC - as we were able to choose two full meals from the regular brunch menu (1 for myself and 1 for my guest). Of course, they will also give you as many cookies as you want from the front desk.

Reading the other reviews on here - it seems that they are mostly from people unfamiliar with how higher end hotels work. Complaints about sensors in the mini bar, paying for internet, and using your room key to access your floor - puh-lease people. These are standard when you stay in a nice hotel.
