David Thompson Review of Boston Store Salon

I was here recently with my wife, who was in the women's department. She went up to ask about an item that the store didn't have in her size. A black lady cut in front of her, and the cashier, who was also black, proceeded to wait on this lady, even though my wife had obviously been there first. (We are white.) The cashier was painstakingly polite to this lady. When they were finally done, and my wife, who had been waiting patiently, despite having been cut off, asked her question, the cashier was very cold to her to the point of rudeness, and curtly informed my wife that "if you don't see it on the rack, we're out of them." There are signs all over the section saying, "If you don't see it, ask us." Perhaps they should also say, "ask us--only if you're black." I very desperately don't want to be racist, but people like that Boston store cashier make it very difficult for me. I won't be back.----Oh, and when I tried to call, guess what? Boston Store "prefers not to make public" their 800 number. No wonder their business is so bad!
