We contracted Power Home Remodeling to replace the crappy windows our house was built with in 1996. A few years ago we had replaced the upstairs windows with Home Depot's finest vinyl windows. They were good solid windows-far superior to the cheapo units the house came with. This year we did all of the lower level windows on the back side of the house. We have nothing behind us but farm field, so when the wind howls in the winter from the west, we have zero buffer, and our family room was always very chilly.

With the new windows from Power, it is not only much warmer but also much quieter than before. Until the wind gets up to 30 mph+, we can't hear anything. Just for kicks, when the temperature dropped to -10 F, I took my digital meat thermometer and first held it against the new PHRG glass for 2 minutes. I had a reading of 62 F, which thought was pretty good since I only have the thermostat at 65. On the Home Depot windows from a few years ago, I had 59. On the original windows that remained, I only had 53. No wonder we were always cold.

Shortly after the first round of windows, Power called to ask if we wished to take advantage of being a returning customer to get great deals on more windows. Kyle, the friendly sales rep, (the first sales rep was Joe, also a friendly guy), offered a good price to complete the remaining 5 windows, as well as a new front entry door to replace a Pella unit that had not been installed very well (that's what happens when you know a "guy", rather than go with professionals).

Well, they just completed the windows and door, and it is another job very well done. I was just telling my mother and brothers over Easter dinner that the new windows can be opened and closed with a single finger, and sure enough, they can easily be lifted and closed that way.

We are quite pleased and would recommend PHRG to anyone seeking quality products and unstallations.
