Money needs to be spent on traps instead of a big hole. Also needs someone who knows how to look after the traps with the correct amount of sand for the correct bunkers. Appoximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch for fairway bunkers and about 1 to 2 inches for green bunkers. Hitting out of hardpan spoils the round and makes people think twice about coming back. Well groomed bunkers would put the course away above the competition ( at least a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5.) the heavy grass around the greens also turns people off but not nearly as much as poor traps.
