I visited the city of art on the occasion of the exhibition Father and son dedicated to Michelangelo Pistoletto and father Ettore, for the part of the exhibition located here (another part is in Biella Piazzo).
It is a structure obtained from factories of the last century that have been decommissioned and adapted for cultural and aggregation purposes.
You can breathe different arias: that of the 60s and poor art, that of the Biella manufacture of the early 1900s and that of the eighties of the same century which aimed at cultural reuse in an anthropological vision that combines work and creative experiences. Today the impression is of being in a temporal space limbo waiting for the times to evolve and we know which direction to go. Only the newly renovated bistrot and with the new management of the Ramella family seems to wish for a step forward of those who, rolling up their sleeves, do not want to watch, but who with the only job they know, try to create something from what they left behind. who had preceded him with the same idea.
Excellent reception at the exhibition: culturally prepared young people welcome me and accompany me on the visit, leaving me the space to enjoy individually the suggestions created by the master Pistoletto. At the exit I see with pleasure that the same staff manages foreign guests with fluent English.
The bistrot is a confirmation of the mastery of the Ramella family who, having abandoned the thankless villa Carla, offers this place to a more youthful clientele, but above all in the spirit, more eclectic. An open space with open kitchen where you could also meet, as happened to me, the master Pistoletto and his wife next to a loud regurgitating table of very nice children who, fortunately for them, did not reach the height of the tables.
It may improve further, but it is already worth trying for an alternative evening.
