I own and operate Green Machine Safe and Lock in middle TN.
I specialize in opening and repairing safes across Tennessee an Kentucky.

I drive alot of miles.

My service van has been a 2002 Ford Econoline E250 van (with 413,000 miles)

It still runs perfectly, but I have had no air conditioning for a few years and as the business has grown, my need to carry more inventory, tools has increased as well.

I knew I had to upgrade, update my service van. I knew I wanted a high roof van, now to research and find the best one to buy.

I looked at the Mercedes Sprinter, Nissan NV cargo, Dodge Promaster and of course the Ford Transit 250.

The Mercedes was ruled out because of the cost and expense and availability of quick, efficient service.

The Nissan was a viable option, but ultimately ruled out because of space and limited configurations.

The Dodge Promaster was ruled out because of concerns about cabin, seat, driving comfort.

I really researched all of these and the Ford Transit 250 came out ahead in every category.

Now that I decided on which van was best, I had to find one with the features that I wanted.

This began a long process of nightly internet searches, looking all across the United States.

I emailed, called and spoke with many dealers and wholesalers from all corners of the country.

Many were not professional, or misrepresented the facts and condition of the vehicle. I was getting very frustrated with the process. Each day I would get back into my extremely hot, hot van for another 10-12-14 hour day.

Then I found the exact model I wanted.
Ford Transit 250, high roof, long wheelbase, extended.

It had all the options I wanted... 3.7L V6, cruise control, rear view camera, etc.

Now, to call the dealer.. Capital Ford in Raleigh NC.
I called and spoke with H.D.Griffin.
He was courteous, professional and took the time to answer every question I had.

I told him about my situation, my long, frustrating search and my quest for honesty, integrity throughout the process of the sale.

He said that I had come to the right dealer and he was the right man to meet all my needs.

I told him that he would have to drive this van himself and report back to me that "it was perfect", "flawless", and that he would "sell it to his wife or daughter" without hesitation.

He said no problem, immediately took it for a drive. He called during the drive and gave me a complete description of his driving experience.

He completely understood how scary it can be to buy a vehicle in another state.

He personally oversaw every aspect of the buying process, including having the van delivered to me in Tennessee.

I had high expectations of my new van. I had spent endless hours researching, so I knew the facts and figures.

I was still blown away when it was delivered.
I immediately had a safe job in Kentucky.
I got behind the wheel and off I went...

It's such a joy to drive. Quiet, smooth, comfortable.

I could not believe the experience. It is like driving a new Ford car. It's that easy and comfortable to drive.

The technology, the design, the rear view camera, great.
Having cruise control is wonderful and feeling the air conditioner blow that cold breeze is awesome.

The space is amazing, being able to stand up... straight and tall and walk around in my van is fantastic.

Now I just have to pick out the proper cabinets and shelving, so I can use it everyday to meet the needs of my customers.
