I come from a LONG martial arts background (27 plus years) covering a wide variety of traditional styles (both hard and soft) so finding a new place to train and workout can be difficult as most places that bill themselves as martial arts training schools do not openly welcome new comers with a vastly different background. The world of martial arts can be very closed minded; this is coming from experience, not mere opinion. This has NOT been the case with Krav Maga Maryland in Columbia. From the first class I took they treated me with respect and welcomed me into their school to train without casting aspersions on my past experience or training.

This is NOT a traditional style of martial arts but if you are interested in Krav then you should have already done your research and should know that walking in the door. There are no katas, forms or other distractions that you find in those traditional styles. These things do serve a purpose in those styles but not here. Everything is direct and based on the principle of getting you out of a bad situation in the quickest, most direct way possible which at the end of the day, means you go home safe and that s all that matters. This is how we train

As for the contract, there is nothing in there that I have not seen at any other gym or school that I have been involved with in the past. ALL reputable training facilities have those and should be expected in this day and age to protect you and the facility.
