I like to review governmental agencies in Cobb County and would like to give the following advice especially after seeing poor reviews for this site. Many people may see probation as a problem but it is a wonderful alternative to spending time in jail. Unfortunately the county is overrun with criminal elements who have come to Cobb County to make it their home and curse it in the process. The taxed system makes it hard for the county and although more staff may be needed, the responsibility for appointments rests solely with the probationer and visiting the office may be required if no one is able to answer the phone. The probation officers are not compensated well and have many probationers on their list. This is primarily a thankless job and it wears on a person mind after a while of dealing with knucklehead individuals 100 at a time. Make sure not to disappoint the officer by doing stupid things, get to the appointment on time, and pay the county off. Simple to some but many find it difficult.
