Zoo's are funny things, I'm often unsure of the worth of them. They take up a huge amount of inner city space in an age when people are really struggling to find homes. But a first trip to the zoo with a child is a singular experience
Wellington zoo is some what oddly shaped but the hill that it sits on really makes for a unique space that guides you a specific way. The animals seem happy and all look in good health and the zoo's commitment to seeing behind the scenes stuff (surgery, feeding,etc) is really fascinating.
So I don't like zoo's much, but I like seeing my kids smile and the cafe is lovely.
