I had previously given this place a 5-star rating. Allow me to correct my error in light of several issues that have recently come to light. The moral of the story: If it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is.
I purchased a 2015 Kia Optima in 2017 from Fredy Kia, on the premise that the car had been a floor model. I was given a "great price" on a car that only had 4000 miles on it. A month and a half ago, I went to trade the car in for a bigger, stronger vehicle ahead of a move to a snowy climate. Much to my surprise, I found out from the other dealer that the car had been in an accident while it still belonged to Kia. This information was never disclosed to me. Holy negative equity.
I had to stick with the car, because of the negative equity associated with the loss in value as a result of that accident. A week later, I took it in for routine maintenance. The tire pressure light was on, but it was time for a tire rotation so I figured they would check it out. Sure enough, when I left the light was off.
The next morning, the light was back on. I was confused, and looked through the paperwork to make sure they had done the rotation. The mechanic had written in red TIRE NEEDS REPLACING - WIRE SHOWING but had failed to mention it in our exit 'meeting'. I took the car to a tire shop and was horrified to discover that there were indeed wires showing all the way around the tire. (SEE PHOTO)
I finally figured out how to get out from under the crazy negative equity and I bought a Subaru Crosstrek. While finishing up in finance, it was shared with me that when Kia submitted the financing paperwork, they switched my VIN number with someone else's. I had been driving a car for over a year that wasn't even registered in my name.
JUST DON'T DO IT. DON'T. I am looking for any legal recourse I can find, and in the meantime I must advise you to turn around and shop elsewhere.
