Hidden gem not to missed. Although the neighborhood is a bit dicey, it is worth the effort to visit Montesacro Pinseria. This little Roman style cozy restaurant offers pinza, a Roman style pizza that is both delicious and delightful. The crust tastes freshly homemade and is slightly chewy but has a fine consistent texture. I tried the Maranella which has mozzarella, broccollini, and spice sausage. I paired that with the Porchetta Panini which comes with an arugula salad. The Maranella had the right balance of soft and chewy, spicy and sweet. The Porchetta Panini was sweeter than I expected but complemented well with the slightly bitter arugula. This was a well balanced set of flavors. The staff were charming and courteous. The cozy atmosphere was warm and inviting. The table setting was almost oddly elegant in the very rustic decor. All in all, I highly recommend Montesacro Pinseria for fine food in a cozy casual setting!
