(Late) Manohar Parrikar s entrepreneurial journey was cut short in 1988 when he joined politics and as the demands and responsibilities of public life slowly increased, his role as an industrialist began to take a back seat. Known to be a hands-on leader, Parrikar was forced to reduce his involvement in the day-to-day affairs of his company and instead hand over responsibilities to others he could trust.
Much later, Parrikar started Westfield Hydraulics & Pneumatics in partnership with his sons Utpal and Abhijat. The two factories, which Parrikar owned, continue to supply hydraulic equipment for larger industrial set-ups.
