I should have left a review here long ago.. I had a doctor in 2016 who is connected with this hospital who used me to milk my insurance for both himself and the hospital by performing an unnecessary procedure. I wonder if it's too late to report him to the medical board?...
Then this year I took myself to the ER for extreme anxiety thinking they'd send me elsewhere for inpatient care - I was unaware they had their own psych ward. It had been many years since I'd had to deal with this type of issue, but I've always been great at advocating for myself. The occupational therapist said, "Just let staff know when you're feeling anxious and we can help you find ways to cope." I had explained that it was coming out in the form of irritability and aggression. They decided not to wake me for dinner - and they do NOT keep a tray for you if you are sleeping. One nurse said she tried, but understand that I wake up at the click of the door, the moment someone is in my space, and ESPECIALLY if someone says my name. I was hungry and mad and went back to my room and slammed the door. This is when I'd have thought they'd send someone to talk with me and help me calm down just as the OT had said. No, instead they sent a security guard to my room to scream in my face.
When another patient sat and talked with me, she expressed, "you just need to do what they say and you'll be ok." I swear she said it the same way a holocaust victim would have. Yet another patient got mad (yet stayed assertive and spoke softly but sternly) when staff discussed her care in front of another patient, that being myself - and I can certainly agree with that it was personal information that I had no business knowing. So much for HIPAA.
Bottom line, DON'T go here if you value your dignity and your privacy.
