I had an American friend s beautiful apartment for a month when I visited last summer. What I saved on a hotel I probably spent at the gorgeous bar where I ate dinner many nights while I wrote my next book: I Meant To Divorce My Wife, Not My Daughter. The hotel is gorgeous. The history whispers from the walls and floors (famous signatures in the marble). And it s no longer occupied by the British.
