I had a quite unpleasant experience with this place. I repaired my bike here and was charged 71.19 dollars altogether for labor and a new bike derailleur. I got a call on Dec. 5th from the bike barn, saying that my bike was ready. I paid my money and took my bike away on Dec. 6th, 2019. Then I discovered that the bike made loud noise and was not working properly. I wanted to take it back for check but Bike Barn was closed during the winter break. Urgently needing to use my bike to get around in Davis, I managed to fix it at another bike shop and was told that the new derailleur they sold to me was not compatible with my bike.

When I went back to the Bike Barn asking for a refund, I was told that it was not possible because I did not keep my receipt. After I insisted and I managed to find the bank record that showed that I was charged by them for the repair and the new part, and they also found my record in their card deck, I was refunded 58.32 dollars for everything, which was fair enough to me. But overall the experience is less than satisfying, and I found the staff whom I talked to was able to stick to rules very well but seemed to be not very understanding of my specific situation.

While I understand the bike barn's policy and acknowledge my own negligence in the whole process, my lesson from this is for everyone to keep their receipt till they are sure that their bike is working.
