We first went to the traffic jam opposite which we know and which we liked during another visit (Le Palais St-Jean). This time, the proposed table was in a small room of 10m2 where the tables were crowded and impossible to install. We should have gotten up every time a customer passed !!! The waiter therefore offered us their second cap, the Chef's Basket with a better table.

We chose the menu at 22 to eat quickly. Little choice and not the best of Lyon cuisine ... The best dishes are necessarily offered on the menu at 28 . We opted for a crispy St-Marcellin and a warm goat cheese salad. The St-Marcellin not of the best quality, advertised with salad on the English translation (and not on the French !!!) but served with 2 small leaves while the other tables were better served, very greasy breading around where a taste of fat rather than cheese comes out. The warm goat cheese salad not worthy of the name !!! Lots of salad with a piece of goat's log (bought in supermarkets) in a kind of filo pastry ... Gentlemen, we are in the most gastronomic region and it is shameful to serve such cheeses when hundreds of producers locals open their arms to you with excellent quality cheeses.

The dish, a bib, was more suitable, accompanied by a gratin Dauphinois and a flan without too much taste (surely zucchini). Only downside, the foie gras sauce without any taste of foie gras ...

The dessert was the "best" dish served, a speculoos tiramisu. Value for money very bad in view of the quality of the dishes served.

All the stoppers in this place (place neuve St-Jean) offer the same dishes and the same prices. The one that stands out is the "one, two, three". Otherwise, head to the Quai Romain-Rolland, at Comptoir Chabert, where you will get your money's worth, in a great atmosphere and eating dishes representing real Lyon cuisine ...

We will not return to the Chef's Basket, just a stopper for tourists who luckily for you do not know the cuisine of Lyon.
