When I arrived it was pretty chaotic, the staff didn t seem to know what they were doing and there seemed to be a lot of people at the front desk complaining. When I got to the receptionist I had to wait to check-in because none of the card machines seemed to be working. I was then kept waiting a further 15 minutes at the desk with no explanation. The receptionist finally led me to my room, which was a bit strange, only to open the room door to find it was already occupied when we were greeted by a man in his underpants! The receptionist then ran back to reception leaving me standing on my own in the hallway. The occupant of the room we had entered came out as they wanted to speak to make a few complaints themselves, they had initially been led to a un-cleaned room, and the new room was also unsatisfactorily cleaned, they also said their mattresses were too big and were hanging off the bed!
I was finally let into a room when the receptionist returned and it was now he explained that they had had a system error and couldn t assign key cards to rooms, something he should have explained when I first arrived, not 25 mins after. If I was to come and go from my room I would require asking reception to let me in! I left for dinner not knowing if I would get back into my room or if I would find someone else in it. When I returned reception issued me with a card, which then didn t work, I had to return again to reception for another one. Also the TV kept freezing and no one answered when I called room service, normally this wouldn t bother me, but after the poor start I d already had at Crowne Plaza it just added to my unsatisfactory stay.
After a long hot journey I just wanted to get to my room to freshen up, instead I was greeted by an utter shambles. After my stay I wrote an email to the Manager to complain, but this has been ignored, pretty much summing up their customer service.
