"Sorry, we don't take cash"
"Sorry, we don't take cash"
I have visited previously and found sorbets to be delightful, tangy and interesting. Sadly, I visited last week in the afternoon and was (apologetically) informed that this is a "card only" establishment. Gone are the heady days of children being able to use pocket money to buy themselves a treat.
Or perhaps the owner is only interested in children (and adults) with credit?
Or maybe data mining? Businesses with a "customer list" are more saleable than those without.
It is hard to fathom the reasoning here. The most obvious being; the member of staff serving was young:- THEREFORE untrustworthy? (Not my thoughts - I am suggesting these are management's)
Not needing to be open in the colder months the owners can save on wages for their teenage staff.
There are a number of free Wi-Fi cafes in the vicinity. When was the last time the owner's had a PCI conformance check for the safety / security of their card only customers?
Decorated as an inviting "chocolate box" of treats on the outside this "more exclusive than thou (with prices to match) attitude" seems designed only for gold card holders.
