Came for some food on our travels heading towards London with 2 children. My wife had the mac and cheese which came with garlic bread, there was no garlic flavour to the bread and was slightly over done. Also the mac and cheese was rather gloopy and tasted slightly fishy rather than cheese. The youngest had fish chips and beans off the kids menu, the chips were very dry and the fish was watery. Myself and the oldest had carvery. Turkey was the only option of meat which was OK it's Christmas time after all, or at least it would of been OK if it wasn't so dry. The peas and carrots were dry and hard as was the cabbage. The mash had the hardest skin over the top making it look like a giant chip and the cauliflower was like mash. The gravy had near on half inch thick skin and was more lumpy than a 5 mile road with speed humps every 5 yards. The stuffing balls were so hard I literally nearly broke the fork trying to pick it up. This would be understandable if the place was packed and they were short staffed. There was 3 other tables in here with people sat eating. We have eaten here in the past but will be a shame to say this, but we won't be returning until the food improves in a major way.
